how I use LLMs

The day-to-day boilerplate of my work as an engineer is sped up by the automation of LLMs. It is a sobering realisation for many engineers that much of what we do is simply implementing patterns that already exist. Of course there is much more to the work, but this is undoubtedly a large part of it.

Though, however useful they are, I have learnt that LLMs are a poisonous tool when you outsource your thinking to them. Slowly over time they errode your ability to think. And this errosion happens quicker than the toil that was required to build the ability in the first place. So I ask myself - is my ability to think more important than having the thought of something else more quickly?

For me, yes. And so, as this site is largely a mechanism for me to think, I do not use them for content generation (as unpopular that may be in todays world). Every word written in this site is my own.
